printable gold bunting card

Once again I'm here to apologize for the blog silence lately. In the midst of long work days and busy weekends, I've been trying to not let the easy breezy fleeting days of summer pass me by. Instead of shooting a post, we head to one of our favorite parks for an evening walk or an al fresco dinner. When I normally might be testing a new recipe to share with you, I've opted instead to use the panini press, smash summer's bounty between two pieces of bread, and have dinner on the table in fifteen minutes. Call me crazy, but that makes a lot more sense to me than spending all day in a sweltering kitchen! And so please excuse the sporadic posting, it's likely to continue for the remainder of the summer...

...but to make up for the lack of consistent posting, I've made you a printable! Truthfully, I made this card a few months ago for all the weddings and graduations we have or will be attending in the near future. And since I know how much you love printables and pretty cards, I thought I'd be nice and use my preschool skills and share the love.
This card is a conglomeration [word of the day!] of a few of my current loves: simple card designs, bunting, and the kraft/gold color combo that's everywhere lately. It's dressy enough for a wedding, but simple enough for any special event. Bonus: this card is minimal effort with beautiful results!
If you've downloaded any of my printables in the past, you know the drill. Click on the link below and a dropbox window will open with the pdf. The card prints up ready to be embellished. Give the bunting a gold tint, write your words of wisdom, and send it on its way.
Supplies
Gold Sharpie
Kraft Card Paper
Bone Folder

Directions
1. Click here to access the printable pdf for your own personal use.
2. Fill your printer tray with the 8"x5.5" kraft card paper (the card size will be 4"x5.5" when folded) and print.
3. Use the gold Sharpie to color in the bunting.
4. Create a crisp fold with a bone folder or ruler and you're finished!
The perfect beginner homemade card for all you newbies out there and an attractive addition to your card stash for all you seasoned crafters. Happy crafting!

printable spring card

I'm craving spring colors, buds, and blooms. I'm sure I will be until the bulbs pop, the grass greens, and the trees bud. Hopefully that comes sooner rather than later, but until then I'll just continue making cheery flower projects. Judging by the top ten post list and that the billy ball flower gift wrap project is now the #1 post of all time [woah!], I think you also share my love for spring and simple diy projects. Or maybe you just like the color yellow? Or are you a sucker for classy [but cheap] gift wrap like me? Whatever the reason, thanks for all the blog love this week!

I've officially unofficially named it reader appreciation day! To celebrate you, my lovely readers, I'm gifting you a sweet printable card. I think the flower is from a joe pye weed. Hmmm. I'd like to call a friend...anybody? Mom?? Anyway, consider it a great addition to your stationary stash, a special way to say happy birthday, or the perfect little card to present to your momma on Mother's Day. Yes, Mother's Day. It's sneaking up on us.

printable: love birds valentine's day card

Have you noticed the slow creep of hearts and every shade of red into your blog feed lately? Perhaps it's because Valentine's Day is exactly a month away! Are you one of those people that plans elaborate displays of affection for the day of love? Or do you panic on February 13th when someone reminds you Valentine's Day is tomorrow?  Love it or hate it, it's coming! Oh and if you hate it, spare yourself the trip to the craft store right now...unless you're prepared for a pink, purple, and red explosion.

Today I'm sharing the love early to all of you by offering a free printable Valentine's card. No more searching the day before for the perfect card in a picked-over card aisle with twenty other procrastinators. Stay home. Print the card on cardstock. Fold. Write a little note. Put in an envelope or leave it as is. Ta da - done!

I was given Photoshop as a Christmas present and I've been busily experimenting. Oh the wonders of Photoshop. I'm enjoying the whole editing and creating experience. Expect more printables in the future! Anyway, using the incredible editing tools I turned this photo I took years ago of a flowering tree in Hong Kong...
...into a cute, but simple love birds Valentine's Day card!
Choose which format you'd prefer: 4x6 notecard or 8.5x11 folding card. Note: a link to Dropbox will open and from there you'll be able download the printables (for personal use only please). Let's not discuss how aggravating it is that blogger does not have an easier option to share downloadable files...

You can choose to leave the printable as is or give it a little extra something. I added some silver paint embellishments with a tiny paintbrush and a small clay tool. I painted silver wings on the love birds and added a sprinkling of silver dots. I love the extra pizzazz the silver brings, but if you're in a rush - forget the paint.
Happy printing!
P.S. If you're single and V-Day makes you want to hide under the covers and watch re-runs until it's over, I will not judge if you go Mr.-Bean-style and send yourself this card and some chocolates. Promise :)
